FR J Club 390 Kids Skates
FR J Club 390 Kids Skates — a premium junior skate for young skaters moving on from their first pair into urban skating, freeride and freestyle, built to the same thinking as FR's adult performance models.
The three-wheel setup sits low to the ground, which is what makes this skate quick to turn and easy to control at speed. It also takes larger wheels later, so the skate can be upgraded as the rider gets stronger rather than replaced.
The shell has a recessed front mounting platform that drops the frame closer to the ground. Lowering the ride height improves stability and power transfer without dulling the response, which is the change you feel most against a standard junior skate.
Most expandable junior skates rely on a sliding shell. The FR J range keeps a rigid one-piece shell instead and grows with the child through a 3-in-1 nested insole system: three insoles sit inside one another and come out one at a time as the foot lengthens, covering EU 32-34 through to EU 40-42. Keeping the shell rigid preserves the precision and foot support that an adjustable mechanism gives away.
The rear wheel is rockerable, so flipping the axle gives a curved setup that makes slalom and freestyle turns easier to hold.
Everything is screwed rather than riveted, so worn parts can be replaced individually instead of writing off the skate.
A brake is not included. An optional brake is available separately.
