When\nsandblasting, shot blasting or scarifying, surface texture must be similar to light broom finish\nconcrete. Maximum acceptable floor variation is 3\/16” for a 10ft length. Surface areas requiring\npatching or leveling must be done using portland based cementious patching materials. All loose material\nmust be vacuumed from the surface before application. Maintain FloorSecure at room temperature before\napplying to ensure easy troweling and leveling. Test and evaluate to ensure adequate adhesion. Subfloor\nMoisture Check - Prior to the installation of FloorSecure on a concrete subfloor, CHEMLINK recommends\nthat a Calcium Chloride test be performed to check for moisture pressure. When performing this\napplication, it is recommended that several locations on the substrate are to be tested. The concrete\nsubfloor is not to exceed 15 lbs.\/1000 sq. ft.\/24 hours per Calcium Chloride Test (ASTM F1869) or 85%\nrelative humidity when tested with an in situ probe (ASTM F2170). For installations on wood substrates,\nacceptable conditions are moisture readings less than 12% when using a Tramex, Delmhorst, or an\nequivalent wood moisture meter. Installation - Begin installation by securing a starter row to the\nsubfloor. The starter row provides a stationary point to push against and prevent flooring shift during\ninstallation. Once the starter row is secured, apply adhesive to substrate with the appropriate trowel.\nSpread the adhesive and begin to install the flooring immediately. For “walk-on-work” installations,\nimmediately clean any adhesive from pre-finished flooring with solvent. Be careful not to harm the\nfinish of the flooring. Buff the flooring with a dry rag or paper towel. If required, after a few rows\nhave been installed, secure the flooring boards with removable tape to prevent sliding. Flooring that is\nnot flat should be tacked, weighted, or rolled to ensure proper contact between the flooring and\nsubstrate. Rolling is recommended for all installations with a 150 lb. roller within 30 minutes of\napplication.
